Yoongi
I heard Taehyung yelp in pain and instantly felt my shoulder hurt. I turned to look and saw Taehyung being slammed into a tree and his father biting into his shoulder.
‘NO! TAEHYUNG!!’ I yelled into the mind link just as I began to run towards them. I jumped on Taehyung’s father’s back as I bit into his own shoulder, making him yelp slightly before he turned around and sent me crashing against the tree.
I felt as if my back was breaking as I tried to get back to my feet. I saw two wolves running in my direction, but Jungkook and Hoseok were quick to come form a protective shield in front of me as they growled loudly.
I looked over at Minho who was being protected by the fairies. It seemed almost as if the enemy pack had momentarily forgotten about him – thank Goddess.
Jungkook and Hoseok were fighting against two other wolves while I tried to stand. Taehyung’s father approached me, snarling at me. I could see the look on his face, he wanted hurt me to hurt Taehyung.
He pounced on me but I could barely move. He scratched across my chest and face and I yelped in pain.
‘YOONGI!’ Taehyung yelled as he suddenly jumped and pushed his father off of me. I went to my knees just as I saw him pin down his father and then bite into his neck, killing him.
The fighting stopped immediately as all eyes fell on Taehyung. The packs separated again into two separate ones. Taehyung turned around as all the wolves faced him.
He was panting and bleeding, his eyes shone completely golden. He had taken Alpha position. Namjoon took a step forward before he bent his head down.
‘My Alpha,’ Namjoon said, sounding proud and deeply in love. I felt relieved and pushed away the pain as I walked towards Namjoon as did the rest of our mates. We all bowed our heads towards him.
‘My Alpha,’ I said as did the others. The members of our pack had done the same and not surprisingly, so did the members of Taehyung’s old pack. It was not shocking considering this was the law of wolves – if an Alpha falls in battle, the pack belongs to the Alpha who defeated him.
Taehyung shifted back into his human form and I looked up at him. He seemed to glow even though he was bleeding from his shoulder, chest and tummy. He still trembled, probably from the adrenaline of the fight, not to mention, he had just killed his father. We changed into our human forms as well as we all looked at Taehyung.
‘Letting you join my pack would make us the strongest pack, most likely in the world,’ Taehyung began. ‘But I do not want you in my pack. This pack, it followed my father, killed innocents and now, you’ve killed Alex and attacked my family and I can never forgive you for that,’ he said, sounding determined.
I sighed, knowing that if they did not have an Alpha leader, they would still suffer. It would make them susceptible and eventually, they would end up separating.
‘Still, I am not cruel like my father. I know the consequences of leaving you without a leader,’ he said as he stepped forward and stopped in front of a woman. She looked up and gave him a small smile.
‘Hello Taehyung,’ she said in a low voice. Taehyung returned the smile as he touched her cheek.
I saw the almost faded scars and I could not help but recall the story he had told us. She was his Beta. They had been joking around and he had accidentally slashed her, making him feel guilty even up today.
‘Hello Bong-Hee. You’ve always been a loyal Beta to the pack. I want to anoint you as the leader,’ he said. The members of the pack exchanged looks but I could see small smiles spreading on their faces.
‘Alpha, I don’t know if I am capable of leading. We…All this time, we have known nothing but violence and death because that is what your father forced us to do,’ she said but Taehyung shook his head.
‘That is why I am trusting you with them. You can do better,’ he said as he took her hand. ‘Do better Bong-Hee. Violence is never the first option. You use violence to protect the ones you love, not for power,’ he said.
‘I won’t disappoint you Taehyung. After what we have done, this is more than we deserve,’ she said but he shook his head.
‘I know it was my father’s doing. I know that if you did not follow his orders, he would kill you without hesitation, so I understand and I will be there if you need my help but I cannot bring you to my home…at least not yet,’ he said and she nodded. ‘Besides, everyone deserves a second chance, right?’ he asked as she nodded.
The pack…her pack nodded as well as they began to follow her as they went away. Taehyung turned to look at us as he seemed to almost ask us if he did the right thing.
‘You did well Taehyungie,’ I said as I touched his cheek. He smiled just as Jia walked next to us with Minho in her arms.
‘Papa,’ he said as Taehyung took him in his arms, even if he was injured. ‘You’re hurt,’ Minho said as he pointed to Taehyung’s shoulder. His eyes seemed teary.
‘I’m okay sweetie. It will heal, don’t worry,’ Taehyung said as he smiled, not wanting to worry our son. I knew he was hurting even if being a wolf meant quicker healing.
‘Papa?’ Minho asked as tears fell down his cheeks. Taehyung winced while Hoseok wiped at his tears. ‘He…he said Mama…he said Mama is dead,’ he said among more sobs. Taehyung gasped, a look of horror on his face as we realized that all this time Minho thought his mother was dead.
‘Oh no, no honey. Mama is okay. She’s okay,’ Taehyung quickly said as he hugged Minho closer to him. He wrapped his arms around him completely, trying to make him feel secure and safe.
‘The only reason she is not here is because we did not let her. It was too dangerous for her and the baby inside her belly,’ I said.
‘In fact, Mama fought with us because she wanted to come and only agreed to stay because Papa Jimin stayed with her,’ Jin said.
‘You know how stubborn your Mama is, right baby?’ Hoseok asked as Minho pulled slightly from Taehyung and nodded.
‘The stubbornest,’ he said, to which we chuckled but his smile faded away. He sniffed and rubbed at his eyes. ‘He hurt Mama…’ he said.
‘Mama is okay now baby boy. I promise you. Did I ever lie to you?’ Namjoon asked and Minho shook his head. ‘So believe me when I say Mama is okay. Remember Auntie Jia and her healing powers?’ Namjoon asked.
‘Yeah like the ones Mama has,’ he said and I nodded. ‘She healed her and the baby inside Mama’s tummy is okay too? You always told Soraya and me to be careful so not to hurt Mama or the baby,’ he said. Damn this child was smart like his Appa!
‘I know sweetie but,’ Taehyung began as he looked at me, to which I nodded. ‘You see, your sister, she has special powers like Mama so she saved your baby brother or sister,’ Taehyung explained.
Minho’s eyes went wide but a smile started to form on his mouth. It almost seemed to be getting bigger and bigger. ‘Sissy is special like Mama?’ he asked and I nodded. ‘Yay! She always wanted to be like Mama,’ he said with a giggle. ‘I’m glad that mean man didn’t bring her here. She would have been so scared,’ he said, his smile fading away.
‘I’m sorry you had to go through this baby. I’m so sorry,’ Taehyung said as tears fell from his eyes and rolled down his cheeks. I sighed as Taehyung kissed Minho’s head.
‘Don’t worry Papa. It’s not your fault. Besides, I told that old man that you would come but he didn’t listen,’ Minho said cutely.
‘How about we take you home to Mama and sissy hmm?’ Jungkook asked, sounding proud.
‘YES!! Also, can I have an ice-cream please Papa?’ he asked.
‘Of course you can baby boy,’ I said while Jin frowned slightly. ‘What?’ I whispered to him.
‘He needs to eat some food first,’ Jin mumbled, ever the worrisome Papa. I smiled as I took Jin’s hand in mine.
‘We can make an exception for today and let him indulge himself, hmm?’ I asked. He sighed and nodded as Taehyung started to walk ahead with us following.
